Ellen Blathers

Ellen Blathers

Ellen Blathers is a dedicated leader in the nonprofit organization industry and is a great addition to Golden Opportunities Partnerships, Inc.  Ellen was born and raised in Milwaukee. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Cardinal Stritch University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Grand Canyon University.

Ellen is the retired Executive Director of Serenity Inns, a nonprofit organization that provides residential treatment for men addicted to drugs and/or alcohol.  She is an original mission team founder of Serenity, and provided the program with depth, insight. and purposeful structure. She also provided the program with her first-hand experience, combined with a solid commitment to providing others with opportunities to turn their lives around.

Ellen’s relationship with God motivates her to choose excellence in her life and career. Her husband, children, and grandchildren inspire her to be the best in everything that she does.  Ellen believes that serving the Lord encourages service and excellence. “When you are able to serve, to give back, that is the epitome of excellence.”

Ellen is also a woman with an infectious sense of humor amidst work that is never easy. Backed by a strong religious dedication through Christianity, she does not hesitate to forcefully and lovingly state her values.  All of this underscores some of the essential traits of Ellen Blathers.  She is all heart and compassion, yet she recognizes how difficult recovery is. Clarity about the disease, combined with directness, consistency, dependability, and openness to her own growth are key attributes of her work.
